Duties of the job

Reporting to Head of Logistics, you will be responsible for purchasing all items required by our clients and primary contact with suppliers.

 

Duties of the job:

  • Co-ordinate and authorise all purchases for all inventory items. Acting as first and main point of contact with these suppliers.
  • Review and management of the supplier base, evaluating performance and arranging feedback to the main suppliers.
  • Review current prices and lead times from key suppliers.

·         Review cost saving opportunities with suppliers (alternative products or terms and conditions).

  • Source and introduce new suppliers/materials when appropriate.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Dealing with all web and email enquiries from customers - i.e. responding directly to customers, clarifying interest/request, logging enquiry, forwarding details to relevant sales person, sending any information required urgently by the customer and following up later with sales person and / or customer themselves

Duties of the job

  • To make a positive contribution towards developing and maintaining the workplace and equipment to a high standard.  To independently carry out installation and commissioning of electrical equipment with up to 415V potential.
  • Installation of distribution systems, including cable and equipment selection, and test procedures.    
  • All work (and time) must be entered into MAXIMO (a Computer Aided Maintenance Management System).
  • To work to the control procedures set out in the local DOM.
  • Power failure correction, including overloads and replacing fuses.
  • Sensing and switching device problems.
  • Use of basic PLC fault diagnostics and programming.
  • Component failures, repairs and replacement of relays, contactors, coils, solenoids and PCBs.
  • Cable faults, testing and repair.
  • Motor and drive faults (AC & DC) - thyristor motor drives.
  • Motor repairs, including bearings and brushes.

 

Candidate requirements

  • A Craftsman will have attained at least 12 months experience as well as having completed a relevant certificated maintenance apprenticeship, preferably in a process industry, with an ONC/HNC preferred.
  • A good understanding of the use of PLCs (Allen Bradley / Siemens) in fault finding, and programming.
  • To have a good knowledge of the electrical safety regulations.
  • A good all round electrical maintenance ability.
  • A good understanding of electrical measurements and instrumentation.

  • Use of a range of hand held power tools including drilling machines, angle grinders, jigsaws etc, also pneumatic tools / mechanical hammer devices, ratchets etc.
  • Follow maintenance task plans and hit objectives and timescales.
  • Carry out basic electrical tasks in line with the company multi-skill requirements.
  • Required to work in confined spaces and at height.

·         To have an appreciation of plant condition monitoring.

·         A good appreciation of friction and lubrication effects in moving parts.

 

Candidate requirements

  • A Craftsman will have attained at least 12 months experience as well as having completed a relevant certificated maintenance apprenticeship, preferably in a process industry, with an ONC/HNC preferred.
  • A good all round mechanical maintenance ability and diagnostic technique.
  • An ability to undertake bench fitting duties, plus basic machining duties, to include turning, milling, drilling and grinding.
  • An ability to undertake various welding activities, to include electric arc, MIG and gas.
  • To have a good understanding of common mechanical regulations, for example, abrasive wheels, gas safety, mechanical isolation, machinery guarding etc.
  • A basic understanding of chemicals and the dangers that they present.

·     Able to use an electronic Maintenance Management System for task generation and work progress logging.

·    To diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement repairs, communicate all work carried out with the engineering dept and record all relevant information.

·     Analyse data to ensure all equipment at their site operates to the      expected standard and carry out remedial work if this is not being achieved.     

·   To enthusiastically participate in continuous improvement activities, optimising efficiency and reliability.

·         To react quickly to any process/quality control concerns ensuring that production targets and quality standards are not compromised. 

·    To always execute safe working practises ensuring all relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.

 

Candidate Requirements:

·         The successful candidate should ideally have served an indentured apprenticeship (electrical mechanical or mechatronics) or hold an ONC/HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.

·         At least 2 years   production / process experience would be expected, and experience in a semiconductor / clean room environment would be a distinct advantage.

·         A sound understanding of production equipment including control systems and pneumatics would be expected, and strong fault finding and diagnostic skills are essential.

·         The candidate should be self-motivated with strong IT and communication skills, have a proactive approach with an ability to adapt and learn quickly.

·         A sound understanding of quality control i.e. SPC and 8D’s would also be an advantage.

Salary: £40 - £45K

 

Leading International automotive company in south Wales area, has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious experienced production manger to take up post as soon as possible. Reporting to the Operations Manager this role has business unit responsibility for managing all aspects of production within the business unit in order to meet output goals.

 

Main Duties

  • Manage a team of 200+ people with responsibility for day to day staffing, training, performance management, discipline and administration
  • Coordinates production activities in conjunction with planning, quality, process
  • Responsible for maintenance of equipment, ensuring both preventive maintenance programs and repairs
  • Ensure production has tools, resources to achieve targets for scrap, production outputs and produce quality
  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of production
  • Forecast costs and financial responsibility for meeting daily budget target
  • Ensure KPI targets as well as results are displayed and reported
  • Generates productivity reports and action plans.
  • Support implementation of APS through 5’s,continuous improvement, lean implementation
  • Responsible for communication of objectives, performance and business status
